1.Can I add a loft to my garage?
Yes, you can add aloft by framing the garage's interior and adding a mezzanine level. This can be constructed using  steel framing. Alternatively, you can buy pre-engineered mezzanine kits to create a second-level loft space.
2.What is a standard garage height?
With steel buildings, the height is measured at the eave. As a rule of thumb, you will need 2 feet above your highest opening. So for standard cars and trucks, you will need an 8-foot garage door plus 2 feet to give you an eave height of 10 feet. For oversized vehicles, you will most likely need 12-14 feet.
3.Do steel garages need a foundation?
Yes, you will need a foundation for a metal garage. This will either be a 4 inch slab for regular vehicles or a 6 inch slab for heavy machinery or if a car lift is going to be used. If you have the precise location of the car lift, you can have this portion at 6 inch with the remainder at 4 inch which will save you a significant amount on concrete costs.
