Characteristics of steel box column
1)The box column has high bearing capacity, good seismic performance and simple fabrication.
2)The inner partition board is set at the position corresponding to the upper and lower wing plates of the outer steel beam on the inner side of the box column, and the full penetration welding is required between the inner partition board and the main board on all sides of the box.
3)Full penetration welding is realized between the inner partition board and the main board of the box body by electroslag nozzle welding.
4)The factory production of box column shortens the construction period.

Technological process and operation points of steel box column
1. Setting out and marking
a. During lofting, machining allowance shall be reserved for milling and planing workpieces, and 5mm machining allowance shall be reserved for all machining edges;
b. According to the batching table and sample plate, the nesting should be carried out to save materials as much as possible. The marking should be conducive to cutting and ensuring the quality of parts, and the materials should be taken according to the specified direction;
2. Blanking and cutting
a.For the four main boards of the box (in order to prevent the deformation of its saber), the multi head automatic cutting machine is used for blanking. b.For other parts on the box, the semi-automatic cutting machine is used for blanking when the thickness is more than 12mm, and the shearing machine is used for blanking when the thickness is less than or equal to 12mm.

The structure mainly consists of steel beams, columns and trusses made of steel sections and steel plates, etc. The components or parts are usually connected by welds, bolts or rivets. Because of its light weight and simple construction, it is widely used in large plants, arenas, super-high-rise and bridges.
